Research
A translational research program for sustainable technology, durable systems, and upward mobility in Appalachia.
Our Research Arm
DhyanaResearch is where we ask the questions that precede product questions. Before we build a tool, we study the people who will use it, the systems it must fit into, and the outcomes it should support. This is translational research — grounded in real problems, conducted in conversation with the people we build for, and designed to move from insight to practice.
Areas of Inquiry
Tools shaped by the people who actually use them — shop floor workers, project managers, small business owners. We study how real users interact with software so that every feature earns its place.
Sustainable design and engineering for a changing climate. We research how durable systems — physical and digital — can be built to last in the Appalachian region and beyond.
Social science research on what actually serves working people in this region. We study the intersection of technology, economic development, and community resilience.
Coming Soon
The founding manifesto of DhyanaResearch is in final drafting. It lays out our commitments, our methods, and our vision for a research program rooted in this place — Appalachia — and in conversation with the people who live and work here. When it publishes, it will appear here.
We're looking for small business owners, researchers, and ecosystem partners who share our interest in sustainable technology and upward mobility in Appalachia.
